Armstrong Genealogy

Are you researching your Armstrong Family? We may be able to help.

The Armstrong Clan Association possesses the most comprehensive database of Armstrong’s, proven from Primary Records.  If you're looking for Armstrongs, we probably hold more records from primary sources than any other organisation.

Our Scottish forename database currently contains over 34,000 records, and our English forename database has over 40,000 records. These are based on primary records taken either side of the current England/Scotland border relating to the area historically known as the Debatable Lands. In addition to this there are databases holding the pedigrees of past and present members. The USA one includes over 61,000 individuals while the UK holds one of over 9,800 individuals in pedigree form.

Research has been based on Primary Sources such as
Old Parish Records
Marriage Bonds
Land Taxes
Window/Hearth Taxes
Censuses
Monumental Inscriptions
Manorial Records
Old Documents
Wills & Testaments
Militia Lists
Family Papers
Tithe Apportionments
Members can obtain information from the databases or get help with researching their tree by contacting their Country Convenor, or placing "Roots Research" enquiries in our newsletter.  Members also have access to our new Discussion Forum on this website, where we hope they'll share information and help each other.  Who knows, we could link new members to current ones, extend the branches of your Family Tree or verify your own research. There is, of course, no guarantee we can connect members to any of the records, but we're always intrigued by new branches of Armstrong’s.

If members are interested in DNA as a way of furthering their research then we also have direct contacts with the Armstrong DNA group.

We are sorry but we cannot carry out research for non-members of the Association.
